Below you can view a selection of a few of my favorite art pieces.

"Nurturing Hands" 94'
Mixed media & oil on metal.
This was one of my first pieces in High School where
I began to play with textures and oil paint.
While studying at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY, I looked to the streets for inspiration and materials. I recycled old window frames and collected various organic items.
"Emilia" 94'
Oil on metal
My senior year I took a welding class and was inspired to create a series of metal boxes. Here I included the portrait of my tia Emilia when she was 3 yrs. old.

"Gish in distress" 94'
Ingtalio print.
Another amazing class in High School, printmaking.

"El Corazon" 01'
Mixed media & oil on canvas.
This is one of the first of many anatomically correct hearts I have made. I use various found textures to interpret my inspiration.

"Lo que no se llevo" 01'
Mixed media and oil on wood.
This piece is made on a piece of wood I found one day on my way to work. I began to use nails and found them to be the perfect compliment to my colors and textures.

"Luna dile" 01'
Oil with modeling paste on canvas.
Using art as my personal therapy, a turning point in my art.
Dia de los Muertos

"Mi Friducha" 02'
Clay
After 9/11 I turned to my roots for comfort. Dia de los Muertos became a prominent theme in my work. This sculpture was one of 25 that I made, and the only one left. Homage to one of my greatest influences, Frida Kahlo.

"Comprame una Flor" 02'
Oil on canvas.
This painting is stretched on a wooden crate lid. I remember painting this in the dark winter of the N.E. and craving comfort from the bright colors.

"Corazon Sagrado" 02'
Oil on canvas.
This painting is also painted on recycled canvas, courtesy of the streets of Park Slope Brooklyn. This piece captured the essence of my catholic upbringing.

"Zapata & Adelita" 03'
Oil on canvas.
This painting is stretched on an old window frame that I found. Before us stands Adelita (the name used to refer to the "soldaderas" that faught alongside and tended to the soldados. Next to her is Zapata, the revolutionary hero from the south of Mexico. In the background lie the volcanoes Popocatépetl & Iztaccíhuatl.

"Azulfrida" 03'
Marker sketch in my journal.
One night while feeling blue I started to sketch my portrait in my journal, can't remember what I was thinking...

"Radiating Heart" 03'
Marker sketch in my journal.
On a cold feb night I was missing the heat and another heart beating next to mine that I decided to draw it...
